Counselling, Support and Training

Counselling is central to rehabilitation. CAN provides professional counselling to girls who have experienced a variety of trauma, and maintains a support mechanism in the safe house and in the schools of the scholarship programs. Safe house participants and scholarship girls are offered various forms of therapy, such as self-defence, dance, yoga, art etc.

Scholarship recipients also receive special training as part of their education. This leadership and awareness training moves to create the next generation of girls who take action against instances of exploitation and abuse. Through leadership training and education, CAN believes that these women and girls can become the movers and shakers towards real social change in Nepal.

Additionally, CAN members and working team receive training on how to address and approach a variety of situations so as to Do No Harm. This training includes counselling, medical care, social work and leadership.
